We are a STEAM facility so we offer an Art room as well. In the Art room there are smaller daily art projects at no extra charge as well as a glass wall the kids can paint their own masterpieces on. We also offer smaller items in the store to purchase for $1 – $3 to take to our art room and paint. The art room closes a half hour before the museum.
Though our exhibits tailor to the older kids, we also have a toddler area and there are plenty of things to keep the younger ones entertained. Our age range is 1 to 99 and we have something for every age.
We are so excited to announce we have joined the Museums For All initiative!
Museums for All is a signature access program of the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to encourage families of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum habits.
The program will enable low-income families to visit Vacaville’s Imagine That! for a minimal fee of $3 per child with the presentation of an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and picture ID. (Limit four per family)
Museums for All is part of the Vacaville’s Imagine That’s broad commitment to seek, include, and welcome all. The Museums for All initiative represents a long stride toward the goal of reaching more children and parents, especially those living in poverty, with the valuable learning resources of museums. Children’s museums, with their unique focus on bringing children, families, and communities together, are committed to providing access to all. Each year, children’s museums host more than 31 million visitors.
The Museums for All initiative will allow children’s museums to further expand their reach and impact.” In an increasingly complex world, children’s museums provide a place where all kids can learn through play and exploration with the caring adults in their lives and we are honored to be a part of that experience!
