Vacaville's Imagine That!
Looking for something to do during Thanksgiving break? We will be having a Mini Vex Robotics Camp! This camp is for children in 3rd-6th grade. The children will spend 3 days learning the skills needed for a competition on the last day.
Day 1: Chain Reaction Challenge. The kids will learn how inclines, pulleys, and levers can be turned into a chain reaction. We film this one in slow motion so the kids get a firsthand look at how everything happens. This also gives the children a chance to become familiar with reading schematics and identifying the pieces for building. This is vital when building the robots.
Day 2: Simple Robot/Team Planning. The children will start off building a simple robot. This is the base for many of our robots. From this point each team will decide which robot they will be competing with and continue the build process.
Day 3: Finish Robot Builds/Competition. The teams will finalize their robots, making any modifications they might need and compete at the end of class. We will build a temporary field withe very specific objectives. There will be judges and a winner!
